The Shared Epitope (SE) is an amino acid motif (QKRAA/QRRAA) encoded by the HLA-DRB1 gene and represents the strongest known genetic risk factor for RA, particularly for ACPA-positive disease associated with faster progression and structural damage. Our panel further includes Valine at position 11 (Val11), associated with erosion risk, and DRB1*09:01, relevant for Asian populations.
